Running the fan will use less energy than running the fan and the compressor. I try to save energy and protect the environment also, but having grown up in Texas I also know that there are heat waves that can cause strokes or death. If you live somewhere where the heat can be deadly then turn on your AC until the temps are at a safe level again.

No. It uses a lot of energy which is generally considered to be a bad thing for the evironment.

Yes if u consider it just removes dirt and dust from the air.
