My friend told me that in Italy it’s much cheaper to buy a pair of Gucci shoes only for the reason that it’s an Italian brand (I guess the same would apply to Versace). I always thought that prices of such fine quality products would be about the same. Is she right or not?

No, it is not ture. You pay in Italay too a very expensice price for gucci or chancel or the other desinger.
Gucci or Verace or Chanel is not verry cheep in italiy, because this clothes are there too not mainstream.
if you want cheper gucci or verace clothes you must buy this in the usa. you can save by a ladyhandbag 2000euros, because the dollar is cheaper than the euro.

She is right. Things are cheaper where they are manufactured usually, especially designer items.

Outside of Italy, you’re paying more to cover the cost of exporting the products.
