If you are going to put a good amount of money into purchasing a leather bag since you are thinking of Louis Vuitton or Coach, then you will not go wrong. It will be real leather, it just depends what you are looking for. Louis Vuitton or Coach it depends. Louis Vuitton is hard leather, but through time it will wear and look nice. Coach is good leather, you just need to be willing to put in the money on these bags, don’t go for fake ones.
I would suggest that you actually visit the stores and pick the bag yourself. I bought one online and the whole process was a mess. The bag had a stain. So whatever you decide make sure you see it and hold it before you buy it. Coach is good and the prices aren’t too bad.
Coach and LV bags are a very good brand to choose from. Instead of buying from an online source, I would say to go out and buy one yourself, so you can make sure you are getting your money’s worth. Here are some tips to help make sure its real:
Is it real leather? If you are able to hold the bags, take a discreet sniff of the interior. Does it smell like real leather? Or kindof plastic-like?
Is the interior a high quality? The inside should be durable and feel like a good material. Since these are designer, they are made very, very well and shouldnt have any signs of a weak interior.
Metal on the bags. If there are metal studs or anything on the bag, be sure to tap them with your fingernail. They should sound hard, like real metal. They should not sound hollow or like a hard plastic.
The tag. While shopping, locate the tag. Misspelled designer names are a dead give away. But also be on the lookout for a “Made in China” type tags. Those are not in authentic handbags.
Where is it sold? Only buy from authorized sellers. Like department stores or the company’s outlet.
I think that hard leather lasts longer and keeps its shape more than a soft handbag. After being out all day with the bag under your arm, you wouldnt want to see a crease. Coach and Louis Vuitton handbags are made to last a long time, and needless to say, are very well made.
If you are thinking about getting the traditional Louis Vuitton bags, they are only trimmed in leather. The bags are coated fabric. They hold up extremely well. Coach bags are also made very well, and they have beautiful leather. None of the major brands use “bad” low quality leather so you don’t have to worry. Louis Vuitton does have leather bags in their line, you can see them at louisvuitton.com, look at the Suhali or Epi line.
