Me Myself & I asked:
I’m going on vacation (I don’t know when exactly, but within the next year) and obviously I’ll want to take pics. Right now I have an HP digital camera that I payed almost $200 for and IT SUCKS. The batteries don’t last for crap. I even got batteries made for things like digital cameras, and even with those I take like 3 pics and it says they’re dead. Anyway, any reccomendations for a good digital camera no more than like $225…

Cannon A570 IS is the one I bought for my mother for Christmas. I did a lot of research and that was the best one for the money. The best thing about it is that it uses AA batteries. This means that when your batteries die, and this is usually after 200 to 400 pictures, then you can get replacements anywhere in the world.
If you don’t like that camera then go to this site and they will recommend a camera that fits your desires.

The best $100 compact digital camera that runs on rechargeable batteries (250 shots or more on AAs) , uses standard SD mem. cards, has a 115,000 pixel lcd viewfinder, can be set to “vivid” colors like the Nikon D40 or D80, shoots excellent quality video with sound and has a wonderful review at Steve’s Digital. com: it’s the 6-megapixel Nikon Coolpix L11 currently selling at samys. com.
Good luck!
