I personally think it is wrong. It's taking away trust. If a parent is suspecting somthing they need to stop chickening out and just straight out ask. Yes I am aware chances are if somthing bad was going on the child is not going to ask it. But if you suspect somthing dangerous or illegal is going on,or somthing that just is not within the rules of your childs driving. There privilages should be taken away till the situation is resolved. There is no need to stalk your child around town.

I think the princes in England have little chips in them so that they can always be traced and for them that is probably a good idea. No you either trust your child to do the right thing or you don't! I mean what is that saying to the teen? Why should I behave when they don't trust me in the first place!

Don't know about video cameras, but I think those things you can put into cars to track speeds and such would be wise. Much better to have a more strained relationship with your teen than to have them dead.

squeak neat name.
I agree with you they don't need all the garbage. All their kids nee is a cell phone so they can keep in contact. Whats wrong with them. Is it they don't trust their kids or their over protective. But still that's going a little to far

I think that is stupid. The whole philosophy behind it is screwy. If my parents made me carry around some sort of GPS device or something, then I would be more likely to get in a car with a stranger because hey, if I do get kidnapped because I was hitchhiking, they can track me. That's what would run through my mind. Also, then once the whole "big brother" thing stops, or if I find a way out of it without my parents knowing, I'll use that as an opportunity to rebel and go somewhere w/o their permission.

ok i agree with you on most of it but i would give my child a cell phone when it got to about 15 because incase you need to get ahold of them and other things like that they come in handy but all that other crap is a waste of money and time

I think that is total wrong. If you cant trust your kids then dont let them do anything. Spying on your kids can ruin your relationship forever. It happend to my mom and my sister. DONT DO IT!

WHat do you mean sticking a tracking device on their car? I think if you DIDN'T try to do something or keep track of your kids you are a bad parent. You got it turned around.Hey if you have the money why not? I would give my daughter a cell phone if she was older just so she could have it to call me or her dad. The video stuff is a little over the edge though.
