You definitely need an amplifier. In most cases a 10-1 ratio (speaker to speaker) is needed to balance the sound. In your case since you are using a 1500 watt amplifier, I would suggest 150 watts per speaker up front. (The pioneers should handle that. check the power rating to be sure.)
Not only will this bring out more mids and highs at higher volumes, the sound will be cleaner at lower volumes.

Nice set up :) Well, the headunit should be enough to power the 5x7's and tweeters (make sure you check how many watts the HU is putting out and how much the speakers and tweeters need, just to make sure.) If they need more juice, a small amp will help push them a little better.
If that stuff is fine, I would get an equalizer installed. An equalizer controls the tones of your system. You could then tweak the settings of your system to exactly how you want it i.e. turn up mid and highs... You could get a decent one for pretty cheap. There are also different types, the more bands the equalizer has, the more you can tune your set up. Check out this site for some price ranges... Hope this helped.

If you like the sounds of your subs right now then i would just recommend going with an amp to your doors. If you're running off a Sony headunit then its only pulling power from the headunit. If you put an amp to the doors instead then you'll be able to draw alot more power to them and it should make them sound a whole lot better. If it were me personally doing it then I would just replace the speakers in the doors with a component set instead of speakers and adding in tweets because it helps a ton just to get the mids and highs separated.
