It is likely that you could find something if you expand your budget a bit… a used working projector might go for about $75-100 usd if you keep trying the auctions on ebay. I found a B.I.N. auction which priced a working one at about 100 bucks — so if you keep at it… perhaps you can find one for about 75 or enen less.
