Hello,

I live in the U S so I can not give you as good of advice as I might otherwise. Here are some things that you need to know. Generally, 8x40 are the best all around binoculars for general viewing. Good field of view, which means that you can see a wide area through them. Good magnification which, means that they bring the objects reasonably close. There is a trade off between magnification and field of view. Some people prefer 10x40 but the field of view is limited and some people can not hold them steady enough to get an unshakey view. Another thing to consider is whether you wear eye glasses or not. If you do, you need a pair with a long eye relief, about 18 mm. Another consideration is whether they might be used in damp weather. If so they should be nitrogen filled and water proof. A good pair does cost quite a lot of money in the U S. Maybe they are less expensive in India. If my calculation is correct Rs 1000 is about $25.

The least expensive that I can recommend are about $70 in the U S. They are the Nikon 8x40 Action Ultra Wide View. They are not water proof and not suitable for eye glass wearers.

In the U S Bushnell sells a pair of 7x35 binoculars for about $30. Again not waterproof and not suitable for eye glass wearers.
