Easy off will remove plus a little trick, spray easy off making a really thick coat.now is the secret trick. cover the sprayed surface with wrapping plastic, to prevent it from drying and let it sit overnight or as much as you can, but always check if the sprayed surface is still wet by touching on the plastic. Final step, remove the film wipe it off the excess and wash it in the sink with hot water. Make sure to wear plastic or rubber gloves .Scrub with wire brush , green pad as needed.

Don't do this if you have a non-stick coating: try Simple Green. Put it on full-strength, let soak. Use a scrubbie and keep repeating the soak and scrub. There is a chance the heat from the dry cycle baked it on, in which case you may be out of luck. If nothing else works and you may be throwing it out, try using oven cleaner or Simple Green Automotive.

Dish soap and salt. Scrub it by hand with a brillo pad and that stuff and it'll come off.

Try boiling some white vinegar and soaking the strainer in it. It is good at cutting caked on "gunk". Good luck. I know it works if you boil vinegar in a pan with stuff stuck in it so this should work.
