I have a small home deep fryer that I used quite frequently before it ended up in storage for a year. We now are in our new home and have discovered that it WASN’T CLEANED when we put it away. It’s almost so gross to just buy a new one, but I’d rather not.

The whole unit is clean EXCEPT the fryer pan. It has OLD greasy gunk (technical term there) stuck to it… and twice in the dish washer, soaked, and scrubbed, it still isn’t ‘clean’ to my specifications. What can I soak this thing in that will REALLY do the job? I’ve heard of putting Coke Cola in a toilet bowl to clean it… would it do the job for this dirty strainer?

Thanks for any advice!
