A suspicious air conditioner, what should I do?

Now, we installed that air conditioner, and afterwards we found out that it did not have a good reputation. It was suspected in house fire!
There was that family with five children, and the fire started in the room where this air conditioner was installed!
A couple and their five children were inside the house when the fire started. They escaped from the inferno without injury. How can we be sure that it is a reputable air conditioner and that it won’t start the fire again?
What should I do?
It has a suspicion of larceny attached to it!
Maybe it was an unjust suspicion, and I would not want to hurt its feelings if it was.
