Read the owners manual. It'll tell you how to and how not to. Each machine is a little different.

the more delicate stuff go on top and work you way down ,the shelves bend over at the bottom for saupans etc . big plates together and small ones together. You must rinse all your plates etc .under the tap first , this will save you trouble later , keeping your machine from getting blocked .

Can't you just experiment, if you've read the manual from start to end and that didn't help....

Unless you have an American style dishweasher you will need to rinse plates. US dishwashers are heavy duty monsters while European ones are more eco friendly.

As far as the stacking is concerned - yep you have it sussed - well done!

glasses and cups on the top shelf. stack it organised so you an fit more in. wooden spoons and other long implements should go on the top shelf too.

plates best to go in the rack at the back of the lower shelf and bowls near the cutlery basket. saucepans can be stacked ontop of plates and bowls.

dont need to rince totally but just dont put any dishes in with loads of food on.

also before turnign on make sure the jet thing can spin round and isnt obstructed by any pots or you wont get clean dishes.
