Go to Walmart or your local sporting goods store and look in their camping section. Find the cheapest pair they have and have at it. You may also want to search the web for "binoculars". You might be surprised how inexpensive a pair fit for a small child can be. Just keep them cheap, I can almost guarnatee they will get beaten up pretty good fairly quickly.
